Explosive Power
The Second Jump
In the paint, the player who gets off the floor fastest on their second jump usually wins. We focus on minimizing ground contact time. Repetitive tip-drills against the backboard train the calves and Achilles to act like springs.
Resisted Bounds
Using heavy resistance bands attached to the waist, athletes practice exploding toward a simulated rebound target. This builds sheer brute force in the glutes and quads, necessary when jumping through contact.
Core Stability
You cannot grab a rebound if a slight bump in the air knocks you off balance. Heavy farmer's walks and medicine ball rotational throws ensure your core can absorb mid-air collisions.
Safety & Recovery
Because these drills place immense stress on the patellar tendon and central nervous system, recovery is mandated. Post-drill protocols include icing, active stretching, and specific nutritional windows. Do not attempt the high-volume camp drills without building a base level of tendon strength first.
